ACT! 2012: PMG

Are you implementing ACT!
at your company?

The Planning and Maintenance Guide is your comprehensive project worksheet for an ACT installation. It is used as a setup tool to help you define all the decisions that should be made prior to rolling out ACT! at your company. There are also worksheets to help you document your database design and installation.

Wouldn't you love to have a check list to help you make decisions on all the fine points of an ACT implementation?

Will security be added to the database? Will you be using Limited Access? How will it be assigned? Will there be field level security? Who can see which fields? Who can edit which fields? Will you allow history or notes editing? Where will the database go? Is the server ready? Can we reboot the server?

This manual contains hundreds of questions that can help guide (and document) your implementation. It contains forms (see Table of Contents) for use in database design, as well as forms to use with individual workstation setup. The manual also contains directions on how to perform minor maintenance functions (such as Check and Repair or add a new user).

MindManager from Mindjet.comFinally, I have also included a Mind Map (using Mindjet software) that you can use for taking notes as you are having discussions with team members. Since it is hard sometimes to control the order of the discussions in some meetings, the mind map option is a great way to take notes in a random order... so you don't have to flip through the Planning & Maintenance Guide to find the exact place to record the answers.

The Planning and Maintenance Guide is downloaded in Microsoft Word format, so that you are ready to start documenting your project. The project plan sells for $175, which is a fraction of what you would pay to have a consultant help you plan your project.

Only $175.

Take a sneak peek at one of the sample pages from the guide that begins to outline what is needed for the initial ACT! implementation meeting.

The single-page workstation checklist that is included is worth the price of the whole guide. I print out a copy for each user that I will need to set up so that I can multi-task between machines and not loose track of where I am during any phase of the set up.

The checklists included in this guide have been developed over years of actual work at client installations. I certainly never use all of the worksheets for any one implementation, but it's good to know that almost any scenario that you could come across is covered.

quoteThis is the most comprehensive project plan for an ACT! implementation that I have ever seen or could imagine. It would have taken me a week to prepare this and it still would not have been as thorough. You're selling this too cheap.quote
